“I started training with Matt after a break from the gym and from a very low level of fitness. He was patient and encouraging and never made me feel inferior; he also never let me get away with slacking off! As a shift worker though, there were times I'd turn up to a session after only a few hours sleep and would just not be able to perform at the same level as when I was on a day off. Matt was always happy to work around this and was good at recognising when I was being lazy and when I was exhausted. He worked with me to find exercises I would enjoy and keep me motivated. I really came to love the sessions.

I found Matt's attitude towards health and fitness much less intimidating than most other trainers; he has incredibly high standards for himself and has a huge amount of knowledge. If my food diary wasn't great he would make positive suggestions and alternative choices rather than preach, I never felt like I was being told off. And he was a realist about treats!

I'd recommend Matt as a trainer to anyone, whatever their level of fitness. I wish I was still able to train with him.”
