Jane Roberts Iron Man Wales Blog

Congratulations to two of our clients here at Creation and their trainer Tim Barrett who recently completed the gruelling event that is Iron Man Wales! Below Jane gives an incite to the race and how it went...

My 3rd Ironman was the hardest so far. Not only was the course tough, but the weather didn't help either.
The swim got moved to the more sheltered beach due to the huge swells that were coming in. Despite this,
the swim was still quite choppy, although amazingly I did manage to knock 10 minutes off my Florida time.
The bike course was extremely tough, with a strong blustery wind (which always seemed to be in our face!),
lots of hills, with some really nasty ones, especially near the end of each loop - which we did twice.
The run course was rather lumpy too and was made much harder as the back end of hurricane Katia whipped
the wind up, with gusts of 40mph turning the torrential rain horizontal. It was still a brilliant race and the
support on the course was absolutely fabulous. The best I've seen at any race. A big thanks goes to Tim for
getting me into the shape required to complete the race ...and well done to him for finishing too - and making
it onto the TV show! Also, congratulations to Susie Coughlan for completing her first Ironman too. Those
early morning lake swims, long rides and runs were all worth it!
